He actually became what he eats! Joey, the non-shiny Beartic that GBL replaced also evolved into a Seel.

GBL turning into a Seel is ironic, due to the fact that Beartic is based on a polar bear, & Seel is based on a seal, & real life polar bears actually eat seals.

Pat then returned to the Pokémon Center in order to to retire & replace Joey with the newly caught shiny Beartic (named GBL, after Gameboy Luke), due to the Dupes Clause.Īfter defeating School Kid Seymour & his Houndoom with Swell (currently as Landorus) using Gust inside the Floccesy Town School, GBL evolved into a Seel, just like what Joey dId. Patterrz then swapped out Swell for go to protect him.

Swell was then nearly killed by a critical hit Icy Wind & got taken down to 1hp.

Pat switched out Joey into Swell, hoping that he could catch the shiny Beartic, & used the Castellia Stone to heal Swell's poisoning caused by a trainer's Koffing from earlier. Patterrz was both excited & scared at the same time, because of how low his chances were at catching the shiny. After Pat was grinding against some trainers at Floccesy Ranch, Pat encountered a male level 4 shiny Beartic, & only had two Pokéballs & a Dusk Ball to catch him with, & currently had Joey (currently a Seel) in the front of the team.
